Corona Virus: Johnson announces the lifting of most restrictions imposed in Britain

28 Feb, 2022

Most of the health-restrictions imposed in Britain will be lifted to counter the outbreak of the Corona-Virus, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced recently indicating that he intends to stop quarantining infected people in March.

Among the expected measures, the wearing of masks will not be mandatory by law and it will not be officially recommended to work remotely, and people will no longer be required to submission of a health-certificate to enter discos and some large gatherings.

“As Covid becomes endemic, we must replace legally binding restrictions with recommendations”, Johnson said.

British Prime Minister said that he does not intend to extend the measures that impose quarantine on those infected with Covid-19 after the date of 24 March 2022, and the date for lifting these measures may even be brought closer justifying this by saying “We do not legally force individuals to quarantine themselves when they contact the flu”.

It is reported that more than 152,000 people have died in the United Kingdom as a result of Covid-19.  The latest data shows a decline of nearly 40% in the number of new weekly infections, while the number of patients admitted to hospitals has stabilised.

During the Omicron wave, the number of injured in intensive care department was also in decline.

The good news is that we “PIK-LONDON” have defeated Covid-19 PLUS defeated Omicron and we are still in the market.
